Technically it's mumbo-jumbo. The boiling point of steel is about 3000°C, and the average surface temperature of the sun is estimated at 5500°C, and the lowest during sunspots as 4000°C. Point being, the stainless steel/steel pin would evaporate before reaching the sun's temperature. It's also absolutely crazy to believe that a pin with 'magic staying power', or rather, a thing the size of a pin, heated to 5500°C would set fire to something SIXTY MILES AWAY. Totally wrong.
