  • Basically, this means that the PS2 recognizes that the file is there, but either part of it is missing, or part of it can't be read. This could happen if you accidentally reset the console while you are saving, or (as has happened to me a number of times), your memory card takes a spin through the washing machine. In most cases, there isn't anything you can do to get your file back. One option though, is to transfer the file to another memory card, and then see if your ps2 will read it off of THAT card. If that doesn't work, you are probably out of luck. In the future, if you have an important save (perhaps one that represents 50+ hours of some rpg), save multiple copies, and on mulitple cards if possible.
  • In order to have a "corrupted file" while saving you had either, taken out your memory card, reset the ps2, turn off the ps2, open the disc tray or maybe your memory card is messed up. I reccomend Sony memory cards.
