  • A troll is someone who just goes around downgrading everything they can during the day. They're called anti-members because they do the exact opposite of what real members do:Never answer questions and downgrade everyone no matter how good their answers are. P.S.I didn't notice for a while but myspace is turning into an MMORPG(Massively multiplayer online role playing game)Example?Troll=Noob
  • Well there isn't total agreement on the definition of trolling, here's my version of it: - Down-rating someone without posting a comment to (a) identify yourself and (b) provide some usable feedback about why you don't like what they're saying. I consider this to be disrespectful and/or cowardly. If you're going to criticize another user's posting -- which is legitimate -- have the courage to speak clearly and say what you don't like. - Posting "loaded questions" on sensitive topics, like religion and politics. Examples are "why is G. Bush such an idiot?". Questions which scream out your rigid opinion on a controversial topic. - Posting innocent-sounding questions and then slamming anyone who disagrees with you. It becomes clear that the question was just asked to start a fight. - Posting personal-attack questions ("why is Stableboy so arrogant?"). Nuff said! :-) - "Revenge" ratings: down-rating another's user's postings indiscriminately because you don't like them or are angry about something. The Anti-Troll Club is a bunch of users who have agreed that they dislike trolling and have marked their profile with the phrase "Anti-Troll Club Member". To my knowledge, the club has no dues or official heirarchy. The club was originally proposed by Elitheeli and then came into popular existence in response to a question posted by TheAnswerer: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/94065
  • How many members consider me a troll? (though I've only down graded two ratings since I've started but I do ask an ocassional loaded question.)
  • I am hardcore anti-troll...it is rude and dishonest. Ranks on AB should be an honor not a prise which was stolen by a selfish troll.
  • Someone who spams offensive comments, down-rates for no reason, and generally does more harm that good to the AB community.
  • a troll is some one who goes through answers and rates them all down just because they "dont" agree or just rating down for the heck of it

  • Often suffering from a mutant strain of compulsive posting disorder, a troll's basic mission in life is to mischievously manufacture inflammatory opinions in an attempt to stir up disharmony and discord. The most common breed of troll seeks attention by enthusiastically posting up a stream of off-topic drivel or by being clumsily provocative (like posting up, "PCs ROOL!" on an Apple Mac discussion board.) Ignore them. The worst thing you can do is to try and engage them in rational debate as this only encourages them to hang around. And once they find themselves the centre of attention, they inevitably become more and more 'controversial' before building up to a crescendo of abuse, followed by a theatrical flounce. These people don't go out to the pub, meet members of the opposite sex or enjoy life. They spend their time hunched over their computers trolling.

  • trolls are people who spoil AB for other people by down rating for no reason and never leave comments to say why.
  • A Troll is someone who posts messages with the sole purpose of annoying or angering people. They will go to a PS3 Message board, and rave about Xbox, bag out PS3's pricetag, etc, with the goal of starting a flame war. "Please, Dont feed feed the trolls." Means just recognise a trouble maker for what he is, and ignore the racist, ignorant or annoying comments they make, as they just want you to react. Of course, you may be referring to the Mythical Creature, which can vary depending on what context you find them in. In Baldurs Gate (a D&D RPG game) they are ugly stupid creatures, but physically strong, and you must use acid or fire to kill them.
  • A troll is someone who deliberately creates problems here on AB. Anti-trolls are people who hate peole who do that.
  • Trolling would be posting a series of stupid or offensive questions, or going through downrating a person or multiple people a whole bunch of times just to be annoying or because you didn't like something they said. Anti trolls give points to people who have been trolled. PosiTrolls give massive points (up to the max) to people in order to bump them up levels.
  • Trolling is any form of downrating or being mean to Answerbaggers. Anti Trolls are the opposite.

  • i agree with stableboy.its verry silly indeed.
  • I like the system on EBay where you can see a person's "feedback left for others". It is very easy to spot someone who is generally critical. You will find very few of those, however.
  • Troll: It's a mythical creature of magic and lore! Anti-troll: A troll hunter! Hunts and eats the trolls after cooking them on an open fire!
