  • Catholics are usually seen as more to the left but I think the correct view is that they are "swing" voters, and each decides. The Church aligns more with the left on social issues (worker's rights, pacifism and such) and more to the right on personal issues (abortion and such). The Social Doctrine of the Church is I think impossible to place squarely to the right or the left. So it depends on individuals and countries. In some parts of the world we are more left-wing (or very left wing) in some parts more right-wing. I definitely wouldn't say there aren't left-wing Christians... And I remember reading about religious groups specifically and oficially afilliated with the left in the US but I don't remember their names...it shouldn't be hard to find them though.
