  • Because they are...excuse the expression ...bigots - the ones who see Catholics that way I mean!
  • Ehem! The ORIGINAL? I uh believe the Apostles were the Originals.. and THEY were not Catholics. People who see Catholics as "non Christians" ... (Next time use a capital "C") are obviously ignorant of what Christianity is.. as,unfortunately, most other Christians are ignorant of who Israel was and is.
  • I think the CC is viewed as a "religion" - meaning a set of actions designed to please God rather than a personal relationship with God. The same can be said of the Protestants, but the CC is usually an easier target because they usually have more rigorous requirements. There are many Protestants who think that going to Church on Sunday is the way to please God.
  • i'm with Moosemose on this one...i was gonna say she needs to do alot of history work and not just the Catholic history..Christianity began with the Apostles after Christ's Ascension on Pentecostal Day......many joined Jesus Church/ HIS BODY, before HE was crucified but the Apostles showed how we were to be and come together...and i strongly believe since Christ is the HEAD of HIS CHURCH , it should bear HIS NAME...not Pauls or John the Baptist.... but just my reasoning...
  • They are not the original. They came out of the baptists. I believe people think that they are none Christians because a Christian really means Christ like. Catholics seem to be more about Mary and the Pope rather then Jesus.
  • Because they are either ill-informed, badly educated or plain stupid.
  • It's stretching history to claim "original," but that's moot. People who point fingers and call others non Christian are just covering up their own spiritual insecurities. You know if you have Christ in your heart, and it doesn't matter what others say or think.
  • People who see Catholics as non Christians are simply ignorant of the history of their own religion.
  • Actually the Catholics are not the original. The New Testament Church was originally made up of all Jewish people in the very beginning. When the Jewish leaders finally and completely denied Christ, then the Gospel was taken to the gentiles. The Catholic Church came into existence about 350 plus years "after" the New Testament Church was founded on the Chief Cornerstone Jesus Christ. The Church had spread far and wide befor Catholicism was born. Toe stepping time, sorry but it has to be done, negative reviews or not. Following are but a few reasons why protestants broke away from Rome. Read the following very carefully then you make up your own mind about Catholicism. Pope Innocent III (1198-1216) wrote: "We may according to the fullness of our power, dispose of the law and dispense above the law. Those whom the Pope of Rome doth separate, it is not a man that separates them but God. [For the Pope holdeth place on earth, not simply of a man but of the true God.]" (1 Book of Gregory 9 Decret. c.3 The Lateran Council addressing Pope Julius II in an oration delivered by Marcellus said: "Take care that we lose not that salvation, that life and breath which thou hast given us, for thou art our shepherd, thou art our physician, thou art our governor, thou art our husbandman, [thou art finally another God on earth]." (Council Edition. Colm. Agrip. 1618) God on earth?? Pope Nicholas said of himself: "I am in all and above all, so that God Himself and I, the vicar of God, hath both one consistory, and I am able to do almost all that God can do…wherefore, if those things that I do be said not to be done of man, but of God, what do you make of me but God? Again, if prelates of the Church be called of Constantine for gods, I then being above all prelates, seem by this reason to be above all gods. Wherefore, no marvel, if it be in my power to dispense with all things, yea with the precepts of Christ." (Decret. par. Distinct 96 ch. 7 edit. Lugo 1661) He can do almost all things that God can do?? The RC New York catechism states: "The Pope takes the place of Jesus Christ on earth…by divine right the Pope has supreme and full power in faith, in morals over each and every pastor and his flock. He is the true vicar, the head of the entire church, the father and teacher of all Christians. He is the infallible ruler, the founder of dogmas, the author of and the judge of councils; the universal ruler of truth, the arbiter of the world, the supreme judge of heaven and earth, the judge of all, being judged by no one, God himself on earth. God himself on earth?? The title "Lord God the Pope" - these words appeared in the Canon Law of Rome. "To believe that our Lord God the Pope has not the power to decree as he is decreed, is to be deemed heretical." (The Gloss extravagances of Pope John XXII Cum. Inter, tit XIV Ad Callem Sexti Decretalium, Paris, 1685) Lord God the Pope??
  • Because to be a true Christian a person has to be born again and submit ONLY to the deity of Christ and the salvation found only in Him. Catholics teach many many things that can not be substantiated in the scriptures, like purgatory, saint worship, Mary worship and believing that the Pope is Gods chosen one on earth today, and may more. None of which can be backed up in scriptures at all. That is why Protestants broke away, the teaching were faulty and not God based traditions and putting to much emphasis on works. Works are clearly NOT what Christ taught.
  • I don't know anyone who considers Catholics as non-christians. If there are people out there that DO think this is a case, it sounds like they are just ignorant of what Christianity is. (The original Christians were Jewish. The Emperor, Constantine, could conceivably be responsible for the creation of what is now the Roman Catholic Church, although it was not completely "formed" until the fall of the Roman Empire)
  • Does not matter who you are I put no labels on me I love the Lord with all my heart and soul. People lable people. In the beginning when the people of the new testament were there they were Christians not catholics not protestants. This is what separates us all . I beleive this grieves the Lord. He is looking for Unity so he can use us in doing His work. Cant do that when all we think about and how proud of who was first or whatever. Its all about Him and Unity and LOVE. Not pride!!!!! That is what made the devil try and rule Jesus and got kicked out of heaven. Its about Him and humility in him .
