If I wanted to go to State U. for a four year degree in any generic major, and wanted to pay in advance, how much would that cost?

That all depends on the university you go to and if you are a resident of the state etc..I go to Wayne State university in Detroit, MI I have 12credit hours and my tuition was around $4000 for the semester, if I would have went to UofM it would have been even more!

4 years 2 sem. a year at at a state U..is going to cost you a lot more than $32000. Average tuition in most schools run per semester between $30-$50,000 plus fees, books, tuition. room and board. If you go to a community college first for 2 years.you could probably do that on the $32000 but no way will you go thru 4 years of a state U for $32,000 decide where you want to go and go to their website and it will list their current fees for this year so you will know what you are looking at. Unless you are really rich, you can't do this without aid.

Most won't let you pay in advance because they reserve the right to raise tuition, and they usually do. Out-of-state tuition and fees at Penn State is $23,712 per year.
