i think pet skunks are illegal. i think the department of fish and game would like to know where you live. surely your pet skunk would not be able to defend itself in the wild. they are vegetarians, right? with love and care, i bet nine years for the life time of a pet skunk. i once saw a mother skunk hurrying her six kids across the dark street. they eventually got it together and followed her two by two. they were so sweet.

Depending on what type of skunk, Spotted skunks can live 6 years in captivity, but in the wild, about half the skunks die after 1 or 2 years.
