I was also curious about this, and the best information I could find was from a facebook developer's page (it is somehow part of facebook: http://developers.facebook.com/news.php?blog=1&year=2008&month=9 ) This is what developer Josh Elman said on Sept 4th: Over 30 million people have checked out the new profile, and many are using it as their profile full time. We're nearing the time where we'll switch over remaining users by default. We expect most of this to take place over the next week. So it looks like there is no official date being released.

According to http://www.insidefacebook.com, there are not set date released. Just so you know, not everyone tries out the new facebook layout. It's only a trial and only 100,000 people qualify for it.
