Depending upon the reason for the suspension(and assuming termination), you're probably entitled to unemployment compensation. I'd be calling that office for paper work or at least doing some research on line. Getting your resume done would be another good idea. Finally, if you have been working long enough, I'd check out the pension info if there is a plan and you are entitled. Forgot, depending on the issues, you might want to contact an attorney.

Finally do and enjoy the things you really like to do but never have the time to do it because of your job?? Lol. Seriously, I would start looking for other work right away, so I have something to fall back on if I DO get terminated. I wouldn't sit and molt in self-pity because that wouldn't do any good, although taking a little break with a cold glass of beer and chips would make things a little easier. lol.

thank goodness it wasn't you getting suspended/fired. I was going to callur boss and chew him out. I was going to ask you if you got suspended for the food in the shoe joke but I guess ur job is still safe. work on resumes: look for jobs: check on sueing them for wrongful termination. retire if their old enough, ..not much else comes to mind'' glad you are not in trouble.

Update the resume... Look for new work (Hope this isn't happening to you, Police!) ;-/

I would review the employee manual very carefully. If the company has good grounds and has terminated other employees for the same violation then the outlook is pretty grim. I would probably prepare a written document outlining the reasons why I violated the policy, any extenuating circumstances, damages I know that resulted or could have resulted from my actions. Finally, I would include a list of my accomplishments with the company, how important my job is to me, and the lengths I'm willing to go to in order to retain my job. I would point out that I may need additional supervision or my willingness to keep a work log to show whether or not my work load is more than I can manage without assistance and also to show accountability for being on task. Lastly, I would consult a Human Resources Attorney if I feel that termination is an overly harsh action in light of the services I have provided to my employer during my employment.

Contact your union rep (perhaps there's a wrongful termination angle?), start looking for a new job, enjoy your time off

Cut your spending down to an absolute bare minimum. Find a temporary job as soon as possible (even before you get fired). Tell everybody you know that you are looking for another job.

Go look for another job, quick!
