The real date for Christmas is December 25th. This is the date the Roman Catholic Church gave Christmas. If you are looking for the actual birth date of Jesus Christ, some Biblical historians have done extensive research and have extrapolated it to be sometime in April of the 5th year BC, by our current calendars.

Well, the actual day of Christmas is December 25. That is the day Christians celebrate the birth of their lord and savior. Scentific research has proven that the actual day of the birth of Jesus Christ is in the spring, because of the alignment of the North Star when the Three Wise Men saw it in the sky over bethelhem.

In my religion Serbian Orthodox, we celebrate the birth of Christ on January 7th; this date seems to be more accurate in my opinion from what my Preist has explained to me.

(Matt. 26:17-30) Since Christ was about 30 years of age when commencing his work and his ministry was three and a half years long, he was 33 1/2 years old around Passover time, or about April 1, 33 C.E. Christ would have been 34 years of age six months later, or about October 1. Again counting back, we must conclude that Jesus was born, not on December 25, but about October 1, in the year 2 B.C.E. NOTE: That is an approximate date there. Also reinforcing this were the circumstances surrounding Jesus Birth. Consider that wintertime does not suit the circumstances of Jesus’ birth 30 years earlier in Bethlehem. The cold rainy season for Palestine begins in late October and lasts several months. By December Bethlehem, like neighboring Jerusalem, experiences frequent frost at night. Shepherds were tending their flocks “out of doors” on the night of Jesus’ birth. (Luke 2:8-14) But already in the autumn month of Bul (October-November) the rainy season had started. (Deut. 11:14) By the latter part of October, when Bul began, the animals would have been brought into shelters at night. So the presence of shepherds in the open fields during the night harmonizes with other evidence indicating that Jesus was born in the early autumn month of Ethanim (September-October). I'm orthadox and its sometime in January according to my religion, but we still celebrate it on dec 25th becuase School starts back up and so on when its actually time for the Orthadox christmas.

in Norway we celebrate it on the 24th of december... but it is after all a man made holiday.. recreated to celebrate the bith of christ but not really his "birth day"

The bible says that the angel visited Mary in the 6th month. Theoretically speaking if they where using the same calander and the immaculate conception happened right away then 9 months later would be March. but I don't think they where using the same calander.

i have been studying this for quite some time now! actually, i have narrowed it down to the month not yet by day...but i have proven that he was born in august or there-abouts!

Jesus lived 33 1/2 years on earth. If he died in the Spring, then count six months back and you have your answer, sometime around October. There are only 2 birthday celebrations mentioned in the scriptures and people got beheaded at those events. Serves as a bad example for birthday celebrations. A meal commemorating the death of Jesus Christ; hence, a memorial of his death, the death that has had effects that are more far reaching than that of any other person. In todays technical world we concentrate on thoughts and beliefs the way we were taught in the school we attended and our present day life style. Computers have changed the way we act and think about the subject at hand. Christmas is the subject of this time of year of people around the globe even though it is a Christian celebration. My wife is a Buddhist follower yet she celebrates the event as she did in Vietnam. Our three children only know of it as a day of celebration as taught by the communist schools in Vietnam. The message taught to the believers of the faith of Jesus Christ is the salvation of the SOLE, the after life of that part of you that does survive the journey one makes through it. The stuff of today is merly a self satisfaction of the times we live in. One can watch TV watch tv, watch tv, many hours a day or after a hard days work at their JOB. It really doesn't matter when you celebrate christmas as its a celebration of Jesus' life and not his birthday!! The christian church used the winter celebration to convert pagans to christianity by "stealing" the pagan festival of yule (21-22nd December), demolishing pagan religious sites and building christian churches on them instead. The traditional "christmas" symbols (christmas tree, yule log, christmas wreaths and candles) are actually of pagan significance and nothing to do with christianity. So I say- nothing against christians- but who cares when Christmas is? we should all celebrate yule and turn our backs on a "traditional" commercial christmas.

I believe April 17th 6 BC. Thanks for asking if you mean Christ' brithday. This was the last day of the event seen in the eastern sky moving, and trackable using todays computers. Remember the bible said he was born in the reign of Harrod, and Harrod died in 6 bc. Can anyone tell me what planet was exactly at the bottom of the moon on that day? (which would have looked like a star). ----update.. ok u had time enough.. it was Jupiter the planet of the kings. When this was seen in the eastern sky(and they would have even believed it was a NEW star as this was an uncommon occurance) as it was in the eastern sky in Aries the Ram on this date. It was eclipesed by the bottom of the moon on that day, which is HUGELY significant. Now the majai(Magi) were astrologers, and whould have known the significance of this event, and traveled with frankensense and murh /silver, and gold- because those signified a profit, and a king, which made all of the proficies come true. Only this event fits, and all biblical scholars agree that it had to be in 6bc. This is common knowledge, BUT this event is not. The people who recognized this were the Iraqis who had conquered Israel EXACTLY 500 years earlier, thus the sweet revenge it was to have the wise men come from there and bow to the KING of Israel. PS Israel as Christ meant it meant ALL OF MAN KIND. "Oh, Israel".... you see only a planet can move in the sky relative to the other stars(visibly over short times). There are no comets that appeared at that time. Plus you cannot confuse a comet for a star. Only that one song says "with a tail as big as a kite" that was made up centuries later.

I've spent over 24 years in the military and I am getting ready to spend another Christmas away from my family. I just want to say that even though I'd much rather be at home I'm glad to be here to keep the terrorists off our country's doorsteps. The true date of Christmas? To me it's time...time to reflect back, to remember it could be much worse, just to think about the reason for the season. The actual date, really just doesn't matter. Merry Christmas

i read a book by an astrologer and he said it was about march 13th, because he said four or five planets were lined up in the sky to create what looked like a gigantic bright star. thats what the wise men from the east followed to find the baby jesus.i hope this has answered your question, your truly, willsmith

Christmas the legal holiday (which has never had anything to do with the actual birth of Christ.) will remain on December 25th until it is legally changed. If you are asking when the actual birthdate of Christ is, (I'd have to say from my research) sometime in October.

The best reference on the actual birth of Jesus is found in "The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah" by Alfred Edersheim. It was written in 1883 and founded on years of research. The sentence structure makes it a difficult read but it is a marvelous account of Jesus. He documents Jesus' birth early in the book, explaining the year and time of birth. (Fall was the season and the year, I believe was 4 BC). It is very informative, containing solid facts to back up the author's conclusions. But the time and dating of Christmas (Christ's Mass) hardly touches on the foundations and depth of Christianity. This is a journey worth taking and even retaking. It is worth noting that the Bible does not give a date for the birth, yet there is a great deal about three subjects: 1) proof that Jesus existed and that He was God's son; 2) why God sent Him to earth; 3) details of His death that met the requirements of a sarafice according to those outlined in the Old Testament. These three subjects combine to provide a rock solid foundation for Christians (and a remarkable continunity threading back over a thousand years). Although investing the necessary time to understand all of it is extensive, it is worth learning the real foundation of the Christian religion. No other religions are like it. Those antagonistic to Christianity, have never spent time to look into it and make an informed decision. To those seeking truth, I recommend comparing this to the writings of any other religion. Whether Christianity appeals or not, on investigation you will agree that it is unique and perplexing in its differences. As a scientist, I find the Bible both confusing and compelling. Christmas, is just a substitute for the Roman celebration of saternalia, so its just about the right time of year for that, as for Jesus's birth date, well he was 33 and a half when he died and he died in April at penticost time of the full moon so counting back 6 months take you to October. I read a great book at the liburary called an Englishmans Christmas and then i asked the JW's and now i realise why they don't celebrate christmas, its got nothing to do with Jesus and because i did used to celebrate it for religious reasons and i truly believed it was christs birth date, i just had to stop, if you realise this already and celebrate it for any other reason well thats your own personal choice but i couldn't live a lie.
