  • Almost certainly just a poof of dust. You're on the right track though. To get a fireball you need to have 2 things present: A fairly dense cloud of creamer; an ignition source. The shotgun will shoot the creamer too fast and spread too thinly, plus the smokeless powder will be (nearly) all burnt before it exits the barrel so it won't ignite the creamer anyway. For the _full_ answer right from the experts, go to www-skylighter-dot-com and search the newsletters for "cremora". Here's the slightly shorter version: Get a short tube - about twice as tall as it is wide - with one open end. An old coffee can works great. Make a 1/8 inch hole in the side, right next to the bottom. (You want the hole to be visible from the inside of the can, right at the level even with the bottom of the can) Put a nice long piece of fuse in the hole with about 1 inch inside the can and several inches outside. Use that thick green stuff - it's called "visco". DON'T use salvaged firecracker fuse! It's too unpredictable and you could burn the crap outta yourself if it goes off with you next to it. Tape the fuse and the fuse hole so nothing leaks out of the fuse hole. Next, put a layer of course black powder in the bottom of the can, say maybe 1/4 inch deep. Next, put one layer of thin tissue paper over the black powder. Don't use thick paper like a paper towel. Use 1 ply from a 2-ply Kleenex. Now add the creamer. Use newly opened creamer (so it's perfectly dry); Cremora brand works well. Don't pack it or shake it, just let it flow into the coffee can until it's about 1-2 inches deep. That's it. MAKE SURE before you light it that there's nothing flammable and no people above it or next to it. Check out Skylighter for pics. Very impressive. Have fun and STAY SAFE.
