  • the money aside, though it's a nice improvement, you should base your job on enjoyment. This is something you'll do for at least 1/3rd of your life, you have to enjoy what you do. if you're bored now, maybe this new job cna offer a world of opportunity, you'll neve rknow if you don't try it. Job security can be gained again, don't worry. i say go for it! be brave!
  • There are some very hard times ahead of us and jobs will be very hard to find. If you have been with your company and they can assure you that you are not going to be laid off in the near future you should stay where you are. When the recession begins the last hired on the job will be the first to be fired. Save all you can for the moment, live as frugally as possible and hope for the best.
  • I wouldn't because in call centres, you are usually not treated very well and it is a high pressure job. You might enjoy it if you like talking to lots of people but if you want to apply for a call centre job be sure to find out exactly what you are expected to do. The pay might also be higher because you could be put on a contract where you don't get such good conditions. I'd be very careful about going to work in a call centre. Is it possible to ask about other opportunities within the company you are working for now?
  • No job is secure right now. I went to work in a call center and it was very demanding. We had to handle a certain number of calls per hour and the computer was too slow to privide good customer service. So, I go several upset customers because everyone else had just passed them off to keep their numbers high. Then, one day, the one and only client for this call center came in and pulled the plug. I had left two weeks before so I was not one of the 150 unfortunate umemployed. If the company you are with is doing well, stay with it, for now.
