Hmm, this person wants personal experience, not reviews sites. But so far, everyone has recommended reviews sites, no personal experience.
From my personal experience - Bluehost.com hands down best service FROM the USA, via chat, phone, and email. Great system. Incredibly cheap prices. The only limitation is ONE secure site per account (that's for ecommerce - 99% of users don't need to worry about this).
First of all, I can assure you that whoever you select as your hosting company, they will eventually screw up ... if you stick with them long enough, it's pretty much inevitable. What is really important is not only their uptime, but also the level of customer & technical service. Nothing is as infuriating as having your site down, and not being able to reach a human being.
We have had our websites hosted with maybe 6 different providers. We have been with RackSpace for the past 4 yrs. They had a bunch of problems about a year ago, and we almost left. However, we decided to stick around, and they really did their best to get all the issues under control. Their technical support is quite good and fast (meaning within minutes), and you can always get a human being on the line.
No persona experience here.

You're reading Who is the best 'web hosting service'? All the reviews vary. Anyone with persona experience?
