  • Are you feeling ok today Anonymous? I want to be very, very asleep!!!
  • Knock my ass out.
  • Assuming no pain was involved, I'd like to be conscious and watching them cut me up. :-) "HEY DOC! Don't leave the freaking scissors in there!"
  • I want to be out! When I had my surgery in July I was so worked up that the surgeons assistant gave me Valium to calm me down before they knocked me out.
  • It really depends on which part of my body is being operated on. I was awake for an operation on my big toe in the emergency room. I'd probably find it more interesting now.
  • I wish they could of knocked my ass during childbirth!!!:) OUCH:) depends on what kind of operation;)
  • If I can take a local (for the pain) I would take that. I've had a couple surgeries and the stuff they use to knock you out makes you feel like crap for a few days. Although, the 5 to 10 seconds before you go under are wild:) I had a local for a toe problem. Pretty cool. Blood spurting, doctor working and me not feeling a thing. Kind of would have liked to see my appendectomy, where they pull out your intestines, cut out the appendix and then squish everything back in.
  • twilight. i had my upper wisdom teeth removed without any gas. i only received local anesthetics (which translated into dozens of shots into my gums and into my tooth nerves). i was awake during the bloody, sawing mess. jumpin jehosaphat that hurt.
  • I had a C-section after 27 hours of labor. The doctor asked me if I wanted to go to sleep, I was so tired I said yes but, I wish I would have stayed awake to see my daughter born. For any other operation I would want to be asleep.
  • Since general anesthetic makes me very sick, I stay awake for everything possible. When I had carpel tunnel surgery, I was awake but my surgery was postponed for about 7 hours due to some emergency and I, by that time, was a complete basketcase and I had so much anxiety medicine that by the time I woke up, it was over..though the surgeon said I did wake up a couple times and mumble a few things (he didn't tell me what..scary)..but I would prefer to be awake so I can ask questions and know what's going on. I have this fear of "being unconscious" and not knowing if something goes wrong.
  • Asleep? -
  • You know, I have a very high tolerance for pain. But I gotta go with asleep here.
  • No doubt, asleep!!!
  • what kind of questions is this i bet that normal people wants to be asleep , i mean come on !!
  • id rather be asleep.:)
  • Asleep, I don't want to know that they are cutting on me, I have had many operations and have been asleep for all, even ones where they don't put most to sleep for.
  • I've done that..lets do it awake thing and have just one thing to say about that..Knock my @ss out next time..LOL
