Have you ever taken a tour around a city (ex: bus tours) right at the start of your visit, to get an overview of that place? (How was it? Was it a jump on, jump off type?)

Yes, I often take the city tours. It find them to be very comfortable. I used to be a tour hostess myself, and so I enjoy being on the other end.

Aaaaahhh ... a tour hostess? You were answering questions even then! I more than agree - those city tours are really fun. :)

Oh, sure! I've visited many a country and done exactly that.

In Gibraltar, a cabbie offered his services as just such a person. Had a WONDERFUL time and covered a LOT of ground much faster than otherwise possible.

Paris, France; Naples, Italy;, Lima, Peru; Salvador, Brazil; Cartegena, Columbia; Tangier, Morrocco and more.

Some were bus trips, some cabs, some train...all LOADS of fun.

It is wonderful, isn't it! I haven't been to Mexico yet, let alone Mexico City. I would like to some day.

Let's see .. never been to any countries in South America or Asia. Never been to Australia or New Zealand. In Europe, have been to Ireland, England, France, Netherlands/Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany. Would like to see Italy and Greece. Still have several "holes" of things in the US I haven't seen! lol But hey, I've loved all the things I have. I should add, I guess that for some of the above, I didn't do a tour to get an overview .. I got in the rental car and well .. "went". :)
