I had a hula hoop and I wasn't very good at it.

I'm not old enough to remember when they first came out, but we did have one when I was a kid. I was really good at it. We'd spin them around our necks, wrists, waist down to our knees and back up to our waists, on our ankles and skip over them. It was a lot of fun. :)
-
I remember and yes I was outstanding. :) I could keep the spin for ten, fifteen minutes.
-
They were a craze at school. School had loads for play time and everyone had one at home. I was pretty good!
-
Yeah I remember when they were HUGE!! (not literaly) Everyone used to want one and there would be scrambles over the one sparkly hoop. I like to think I was pretty good, but it might just be my memory fooling me!
-
I remember. I was never ever able to get the hoop to hula or hoola no matter how hard I hollared.
-
I remember and I'm still good at it!
-
Yes, sad to say, I'm old enough. I was awful. I'd get it around my waste and start to move and get an instand pain in my side. So, much for that game:)
-
Yes, I had a hoola-hoop. I wonder if you can buy them anywhere now. That would be a fun way to exercise. I was pretty good with the hoola-hoop. I love thinking about these memories. It made me think about "One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Eater", "Splish Splash" and "Itsie Bitsie Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" -- songs from yesteryear!

Mine was lime green colored. I was never good at it even back when I was young and thin. I think my record was 4 or 5 spins.
-
I had one and was terrible with it.
-
I remember them, but not being a Hawaiian, could never get it to work.
-
i was awsome!! =) i remember.
-
Yes, I remember them quite well. It was around thirty years ago I first started and I loved them and played with mine all the time. My daughter is 5 and I've been trying to teach her to hula hoop for the last year or so. Even though it's a smaller one (for a little kid) I'm still not too bad!

I am the Hula Hoop Champ 4 years running of Bar Anticipation down at the Jersey Shore. =) I amazing... It's one one really good talent. =) Two years ago, I was there and some girl kept chucking ice cubes at me... I was hula hooping, smoking a cig and had a drink in hand and I told her "If you throw a walrus, I won't stop bitch". It was a classy event. =)

I was about six years old when I first played with it. I was growing up in China and my father bought a hula hoop off a seller in the streets who sold different kind of hula hoops. Mine was big and red. I loved it. I learned to get good at it. My sister didn't like hers, though. She hated playing with hula hoops.
-
I still have a hula hoop, and I am pretty good with it.
-
I only tried it a few times. I wasn't that good.
-
Oh yes, the hoola-hoop, I bet kids today would enjoy it as well, some things are just fun. I was pretty good at it, I could let it go down my knees and back up to my neck, but I was really skinny as a kid and I bruised easily so the hoola-hoop made me blue ;-) How about the jo-jo and rubic's cube?
-
I remember, but I was too young to be able to make it spin even once. I have one now, and I bet I can't do any better than when I was a child ... *LOL*.
-
I still play with a hula hoop; it's the Best Toy Ever. And I'm AWESOME. (Not really, but this is AB, so who'll know the difference?)
-
Me! No :(
-
I had one. I was pretty good with it, not great but I could hold my own.
-
i have one now and my record for it is 30 minutes so i would guess... 10,000 spins maybe?
