  • This time, when you go to the police, tell them that the car was taken without your permission (which is true, beginning with the minute friend refused to return it). Don't give them information overload. He has the car without permission PERIOD. I would choose a different station, if possible.
  • I agree. The minute he REFUSED to return the car, it was no longer borrowed. it then became stolen. Parents can have their kids arrested when they refuse to return a car on time..you can have him arrested for not bringing it back. Just tell them he was at your house and you went to the bathroom and came out and he and your car were gone. Do not volunteer any unnecessary info. the less they know the better. If he has an accident, you are responsible and if he kills someone you can go to jail..you can be sued and lose everything. act quickly
  • I would file a offical report to the police(again) about him for driving with no insurance.I would give all his details to them and see if that works.after all it's you're car!! in my eyes it's classed as stolen goods especially if he's had it more than 24 hours. If that fails get a solicitor.
  • While all of the information you have received is good, there is another option. If you have the keys, go pick it up. If not, have it towed to your house. That is assuming that you have the title.
