A good majority of people think animals are beneath humans and don't find the two similar.
-
Because she is a Republican. =) And I believe this thought process comes from the bible saying that babies have souls but animals do not, that's why we can eat animals.
-
She hunts for sport and food. The animals are shown respect by not being wasted.
-
I don't find it cruel to go hunting for sport as long as you eat what you kill - we do have canines for a reason you know. According to what I've read, she eats what she hunts. Comparing killing your own child and hunting for food seems like a stretch to me.
-
No it's called earning your keep by the sweet of your brow. You guys are twisted.
-
Since when are animals the same thing as people.
-
Hunting in Alaska for the residents is more than a sport or just for fun as you put it. They eat what they kill.
-
Not at all. Hunters only go after adult animals. In fact, for most hunters, even females are off-limits. For example, deer hunters can only kill does with a special permit. An it's not as if she hunted just for sport. She actually ate what she shot.
-
The same way anti hunters can kill their own children by aborting them.
-
Similar to my question: Hey Sarah Palin, what's the more sentient form of life: a human embryo (or early fetus), or one of those mammals you hunt? http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/943077
-
Your talking about animals and humans here. How is this hypocritical please?
-
I find it rather insulting to compare a human child to an animal, personally. Do people feel the same way about fishing? That's hunting innocent fish. Except some just like to hook em, rip their mouth open, cause excrutiating pain, and then don't even eat them. They toss them back to potentially die a slow, horrible death caused by infection or the inability to eat. I know that's a real stretch, and I am being a bit fecitious, but I just don't think hunting and abortion are comparable issues. Hunting is not, and has never been, considered "murder".
-
Well, hunting IS fun for one thing. For another, food is expensive in Alaska to make up for the shipping charges. Hunting, which nearly all Alaskans do, puts food on the table. Most of the carcass is also put to good use, thereby honoring the life the animal gave.
-
What does hunting animals have to with anti abortion. I am a freedom of choice man but what she does in her spare time is up to her. Little bunny foo foo hopping through the forest picking up field mice and bopping them on the head. Oh ME ! Mr Bill
-
Hunting and abortion are two different things - i don't see your point or connection
-
One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.
-
Huh?? Abortion - the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus. Hunting - the act of one that hunts; specifically : the pursuit of game. A bit of a stretch, don't you think. Her favorite meal is moose stew. She comes from a family of outdoor enthusiasts. Her parents, Chuck and Sally Heath, enjoy hunting and fishing. Hunting is something that she has been doing all her life.
-
And while we're at it what about all the innocent bugs those hypocrite vegetarians kill when they wash their lettuce and the innocent Copeds and Amoebas killed when drinking water. Some people are so liberal they fall off the left end of sanity
-
Apples and oranges,Kaz.
-
Not the same thing at all. Hunting is an age old way for man to obtain food and clothing and survive and in many instances made them work animals who serve man. It is only in the modern ages that people have attributed human characteristics to animals and have tried to give them the same protections and rights as humans. As a person raised on a farm (and yes there are still some of those) I have a different view of animals and their use.
-
No. This viewpoint splits the world into two halves: humans, with souls (whatever those may be) and the rest, animal, vegetable and mineral, without souls, and over whom God gave humans dominance in the book of Genesis. It is a viewpoint that depends upon a very naive and literal belief in the Bible, but it is not hypocritical.

Hello... its been ages... thought i might answer some of you questions using Farther Jacks three answer system... Yes... No... and "that would be an ecumenical matter"... Here Goes... "that would be an ecumenical matter" Hope your well!

Animals aren't human beings. I do find it hypocritical, however, that people find abortion ok, but get upset about killing an animal for sport.
