There is no logic in it. Historically it would appear that while the Republicans are in office they spend like crazy, then a democrat gets in office, raises taxes to cover the expenditures of the last office. Those 'tax breaks' make the public feel good as well, this is why the current administration can do so much harm and nobody slaps it down, hard.

The logic is to buy votes.

There is no logic. We are borrowing most of the money we are spending from other countries and it will have to be paid back. Reality is hitting our economy smack in the face.

The logic is that most Republicans believe in the Tooth Fairy...excuse me...They believe (or, more likely *pretend* to believe) in a bit of nonsense called the Laffer Curve. . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laffer_curve . The idea is that if the government lowers tax rates, the resulting economic growth will actually increase government revenues. The fact that this has *never* worked and, in candid moments, even the original advocates of this (e.g. David Stockman) knew it wouldn't work, does not stop politicians from trotting it out. It's the political equivalent of Artery-Clearing Belly-Reducing Cheeseburgers...:-D... . . . http://www.amazon.com/Big-Con-Washington-Hoodwinked-Economics/dp/0618685405/
