    Yes!!!! Birth control has hormones in it. By taking the pills it changes your natural balance, some people gain weight, or get depressed, even become suicidal!!! you have to watch for these side effects!! Your doctor should have warned you of the side effects caused by this medication!!!

    Yes, birth control pills, contain artificially made forms of two hormones produced naturally in the body. These hormones, estrogen and progestin, regulate a woman's menstrual cycle and can cause mood swings & a lot more !

    I don't know for sure whether they can cause those conditions, but my wife can't take them, because she is bipolar and all birth control methods we have tried exasperate the mania and depression states she experiences. Cheers!
