The Burger King commercials with the big fake king head really disturb me. What is it that makes these commercials so successful?

People have a strong reaction to the commercial that keeps the product/company in your mind. Later you recall it when you're deciding on food or just driving by a BK. You're disturbed by the king's head. It made you bring it up here. And you mentioned Burger King by name. And it keeps going and going.

Nawwwwwwwww. It is just so grotesque! The disturbing part is that you expect to be freaked out by a snarling mask. But the disengenous nature of a permanent smile is twice as troubling.
