  • This is possible. The best thing to do is to send a dispute by certified mail to the agency with in 30 days of receiving the validation notice.
  • Ask for a Proof of Claim, that is something proving from the source (the ticket issuer) that you actually owe the debt) in writing. If they can not produce a POC in 60 days, the debt is cleared. They know the rules. Also check with the government entity that issued the account/ticket. Call them directly. This agency probably bought a bunch of debt and this is one of the accounts. fight it and they will go away.
