  • A FIELDER CAN NOT HIT A BASE RUNNER WITH A THROWN BALL. what part of that do you not understand? SAFE. SAFE. SAFE. SAFE. SAFE. SAFE. SAFE. SAFE.
  • First off no matter where you are on the base paths you take a chance of being hit with a thrown ball. And to be honest you are taught to not to change your trajectory of the thrown ball. Thus the runner will move or be hit. The ball is still in play and the runner can be tagged out if time is not given. The whole premise of the question had to do with running inside the baselines as opposed to outside the baselines or in the field of play as opposed to in foul territory. I have never heard of not being able to throw at the runner and after calling 4 different 10-11 year old league commissioners neither have they.
  • If it's a passed ball he should be advancing anyway. But he's safe.
  • He's safe, however if the batter would've hit the ball and hit the runner he would've been out if he was in fair territory. That's why when you take leads from third, always remember to return to the base in foul ground.
