  • i would say it is a crack in the radiator, check it out
  • Start with the cheapest thing and replace your thermostat for $10. That's typically the culprit of having no heat. Considering the car is smoking (is it white "Spy Hunter" smoke?) you probably have a coolant leak, check your hoses. You can easily repace your own upper and lower radiator hose for $15 each and $10 to top off your coolant levels. The rattling sound when you step on the gas, in combination with the other symptoms, tells me your water pump may be going, or has gone, kaput. You can get the pump for $25, but unless you're a pretty good shade-tree mechanic you might want to take it into the shop. I replaced one last weekend, let me know if you're going that route.
