This means that you do something with no expectation that you will get something in return. A truly altruistic act is motivated by a sense of personal-fulfillment in and only in bringing some type of help, comfort, or assistance to another human being. An altruistic act comes naturally and without any preconceived thought to someone who has high values, morals, and integrity -- this person acts in goodness for the benefit of others. When an older woman in a grocery store drops something, this means bending over and grabbing it with no thought to whether "you should"... this also means that you help the ones you love through a difficult time, not because your own ego gets satisfaction from helping, but because that other person is the priority when in need. When a person separates from ego and surrenders to just doing well, this is altruistic and sincere.
