No, it takes quite some time (usually a month) for birth control pill prescriptions to be effective. You cannot get them OTC in the US, they must be prescribed and can only be done following a pap smear. I recommend you seek out a local planned parenthood as they do offer low cost birth control as well as safe sex education and condoms free of charge to teens.

you have to wait much longer then just a couple hours..remember this pill is a huge dose of hormones..your body isn't going to get used to it in 5 hours..it takes months to see if its even right for you..you need to go to a clinic or a GYN..and they will prescribe it for you..they have pills that are 25 dollars a month..maybe even cheaper..just ask

Birth control cannot be obtained over the counter. It normally takes approximately seven days for the pill to "kick in." But depending on the pill, it has been known to take a month before being 99% effective. And also, depending on the kind of birth control, it can be pretty expensive.

My doctor said it takes 3 months for birth control to fully kick in. & NO birth control is not enough. I used both, Birth Control & a condom & I still got pregnant. No sex is 100% protected at any time.. stick with that!

Oral pills are supposed to be taken within 72 hours after intercourse. My g.f. usually pops the pill, I hate condoms and before some idiots pass comments, we both have been tested!

No, she will absolutely NOT be 99% protected by noon if she takes the pill at 7am! And you have to get it through the doctor. You need to be on the pill for a while for it to offer protection, and even when you're on it there is still a risk of pregnancy. But to reiterate: she will NOT be protected.
