This is how we do it...take the paper towel out of the dispenser and place it under your arm..start the water running, get the soap, and wash your hands thoroughly. If the water does not have an automatic shutoff, before you shut it off, take the paper towel, wipe your hands..then shut off the tap, holding the paper towel in hand, and still holding the paper towel, open the door to leave the restroom. Once you've left the building, dump the paper towel! :) Happy Thursday! :)

I usually take a paper towel before shutting off the watewr and use that to shut the tap and open the door. F.Y.I if you are a germ freak like me, you should scrub your hands for at least 30 seconds before washing the soap off

The first 2 answers give good advice, but here's another nugget: if you are so concerned about germs, always carry a small squeeze bottle of hand sanitiser with you. Then, after you leave the germy washroom, use it thoroughly.

I use a towel to turn off the faucet and I use sanitizer, after I leave the restroom. You are not going to be able to avoid all germs unless you live in a bubble.

I dont touch the tap water without using a towel. I have a system. I walk into the bathroom I immediately pick up a towel. I use this towel to either turn off/on the water, flush ect. And on my way out the door I use the towel to open it. I discard the towel on the outside. It's a very easy process. I happen to belive that humans are very dirty. Some wont even wash their hands after ahem wiping. I dont understand that. But to each his own. I know I dont want to open the bathroom door with my bare hands, get back to my desk and reach into a bag of pretzels. You might as well just eat someones eleses fecal matter for that matter. The towel method works. Just to be on the safe side I have hand sanitizer back at my desk should i accidentally bump up against the bathromm wall. I use it religously. I dont normally share any bagged snacks with anyone either for obvious reasons. hahahahaha
