  • Pretend that you're enjoying it and then the rest of you might follow along. Vocal exercises shouldn't be that bad. If it really bugs you, then ask your teacher about other exercises that you can do. Sometimes changing up the routine is all you need. How long have you been taking lessons? After a couple years, I never did warm ups at my lessons or coaching sessions. I had to be warmed up before we started.
  • what i do (yes im in like the SAME EXACT situation) iss that i pretend that its sooo funn and im just all upbeat and happy...also when you sing just smilee and everything is gonna come easier and more u noe happy and not like ur SOO BOOOREDD lol ok and just try to fool urself like that and just give the most effort you can to try and sing nice andpay attention
  • I think the secreet of not been bored during vocal excercise lessons, it is to have a teacher that shows you excercises that lead your vocal capacity to grow and advance. If you are bore during voice lessons, please change teacher. You should not be bored but super happy and motivated to be with your voice teacher. I used to have this teacher who would insist on asking me the same old question for 4 lessons in the road, and he kept saying: ''I will only change lesson when you are able to answer this question'' Because i had poor listening skill i was unable to answer his annoying quenstion. Then i fired him and got another teacher. Then i learnt that listening skills comes with time and repetition, and there is no pint of insisting in to the negative of the student. Instead my new teaches me that the voice is an instrument, and has many aspects to it. Not just my ears. My voice has acquired many qualities and huge vocal power and flexibility ever since i got a better teacher.
  • Get a teacher that you can see improovements right the way.
  • Think of the outcome. If you are really good, you could become famous - if that is your goal! (to become pro)
  • If you are bored during vocal lessons, maybe you shouldn't take them. If you wish to continue, however, find music you really like so it's a reward to sing it after the exercises.
  • Add a twist to them- unless your vocal coach doesn't allow it. I know that when I do the vocalize, I don't like doing them, I add runs. I change them up sometimes... It makes it more interesting, and you can also make them more challenging and make it a better work-out for your voice if you add in little runs or modifications.
  • During the exercises, try to focus on improving the quality of each sound (the "now") you make and to put yourself in the frame of mind where you look forward to attaining your goal. By thinking "bored" your body or voice cannot be at "shining" energy level. Your voice projects from your body and is a direct reflection of your energy/thoughts. Thoughts are energy (fact of quantum physics)so you need to shift to a positive frame of mind and the rest will follow. Plus, you will enjoy your entire voice lesson - so you win on all levels... Enjoy your singing. Enjoy your life.
