Is any form of subordination to (a god/gods) an insult to a human beings self worth and perhaps self godliness?

On the contrary, subordination to a higher being may confirm the sanctity of human life, since other forms of life do not have such a relationship. One may believe in their own godliness, but even for an agnostic, this is self-deception, since we are all subject to society.

I believe that the knowledge that there is a God who loves and values me as well as desiring a relaitionship with me, elevates my self-understanding and affirms my worth as a human being.

True God lies within you. So there is no question of subordination. Unless you want to subordinate to thyself. Even that is not a bad idea. Your own subordinate.
