Calluses are not a disease. It is a thickened area of skin your body developed to protect that area from constant rubbing/pressure (like from your shoes.) They can't "heal" because there is nothing to heal. If you really don't like them, you can try using a pumice stone to grind down some of the outer layers of the callused skin, but most likely your body will just re-build the callus. You'll want to wear better socks with more padding, change your shoes to a different style, or wear different shoes each day to limit the amount of rubbing on that spot, etc... you probably will never have completely callus free feet. I suggest trying the pumice stone, but dont go too far and try to remove healthy skin. Try wearing different shoes. Also, sometimes thick, dry, cracked skin on your feet can be a sign of the presence of the fungus known as athlete's foot. Make sure to keep your feel clean and as dry as possible (don't wear sweaty shoes all day long, or change your socks if you have to) and try some over-the-counter athelete's foot cream. Hope that helps!

Go see a foot doctor or a dermatologist (skin doctor). Whoever gave you the prescription drug needs to know it did not work or else you can just go to a specialist and get an expert opinion (foot doctor or dermatologist). Many diseases and nutritional deficiencies can cause these things also, as well as poor fitting shoes, how you walk, etc., It needs professional evaluation if you have tried all the things you mentioned and had no luck.

It is difficult to stop them from forming if you have dry skin. I would suggest scrapping them to reduce the size and applying a moisterizer often. If the calluses get too thick, they can crack and bleed which becomes very uncomfortable. I would also suggest Flax Seed Oil.

I'll add a bit more detail...I have worn sandals nearly 100% of the time for the last year to prevent the things that you have mentioned. Also, one of the prescriptions was for fungus incase that was the problem, which was from the dermatologist. When I've used a pumis stone or sanding bar, I then suffer with deep cracks from the rubbing for the next few weeks. I've thought about 'cutting/trimming' them, but I don't know if this would really help. Please keep suggesting, perhaps I'll hear something that I've not tried. Thanks!

well i would suggest soaking your feet in hot comfortable water for 10 min each nite the using a foot scruber (you can get from bath and body works) or a pumice stone and shave off the dead skin and start wearing socks or slippers more and walking on the bach can help and make soaking your feet and using a pumice stone or a foot scruber part of your daily plan

Have your feet get a regular foot spa. They will scrub your feet to get rid of the calluses.

How is your weight? If your feet are carrying to much weight calluses will form for protection. What about your family, do they also suffer from thick calluses? There may be a hereditary issue here in regards to skin condition etc. You need to see a Podiatrist, they have the knowledge and skill required to solve your problem. Everything mentioned here will help but unless it's kept up and you baby your feet, (wearing properly fitted shoes practically 24/7) you won't see much improvement. I experienced a similar situation and got fed up with being uncomfortable wearing sandals, I lost weight, NEVER went barefoot or just walk around in socks, unless going to bed or showering, believe me I hated wearing shoes in the house, and was under the care of my Podiatrist. My feet are soft and sexy now but I still have to keep up with treatments. Good luck
