Favourite dance to watch is that Riverdance thing. I can't do all that stuff. My favourite dance to dance is (I'm waiting for people to jeer) Strip the Willow a Scottish country dance that involves a line of men, a line of women, and lots of twirling and 'Heuch'ing. Watch for the kilt birling out of control, though.

Flamenco. To watch and to do. I just find it really passionate and earthy, as opposed to more "polished up" forms. Its also incredibly good fun and really good for thrashing out a bit of frustration. And good for keeping fit.

I'm a big fan of lyrical modern... it's creative and free yet uses a lot of ballet technique. Once I'm back into shape, I'll be dancing again.
-
Hopak, Ukrainian folk dancing. It was used by the Cossacks for their calisthenics and good dancers can show awesome muscular strength and balance.
-

If you are talking about type of dance I would say ballet and contemporary ballet. My favorite ballet would be Giselle. Contemporary ballet piece would be Mats Ek - the Apartment. Here is one section called Television. This piece was staged on the Paris Opera ballet. Jose Martinez is amazing in this.
-
It would be Lyrical, Contemporary Ballet, and Breakdance only when the dancer is fluent in other styles (for some reason it looks better).
-
I believe it is called Butoh? It is a Japanese dance of the dead. I think that's how you spell it?
