On the various series of Star Trek, we see picture frames once in a while. Why weren’t they digital picture frames, which are already available today at Wal-Mart, Target, and other major stores?

    Because they didn't exist when the show was created. Didn't those things just come around withing the last few years?? Are there still new episodes of Star Trek???

    There is the possibilty that there are digital picture frames elsewhere that aren't shown. At any rate there seems to be the underlying assumption that the digital must replace the analogue once it is invented. Why? One is good for some things, the other is good for others. I hope I'm not reading something in here...
