Windows XP: system does not recognize word 2007 cd's when attempting install. what is the problem?

1. Do the CD's work in another computer? 2. Do other CD's work in this computer? Until you know the answers to those two questions, you won't know what to do. Either the CDs are defective, they're not CDs (i.e. they're DVDs and you don't have a DVD player), or the computer's drive is malfunctioning.
