All the UK networks' websites offer an 'On-Demand' service (e.g. BBC i-player, Channel 4 OD etc.). Log on, follow the instructions, and download from a good selection of that channel's shows.
You can download British TV programs directly to your pc and watch them for free. Or if you don't mind some Chinese and Japanese subtitles and poor quality, http://www.surfthechannel.com has some British TV programs as well and is free.
britbox has closed but if you go to brittv.co.uk you will find it!
you can watch eastenders corrie and emmerdake on britbox.co.uk its free but if u have vlc player disable it as it wont play corrie or emerdale. the shows are a day behind but there are at lleast two weeks worth on each page. it works abroad as im in spain and have just finished watching. enjoy it i do
I use Film On - http://www.filmon.com/tv/ but I'm going to check out some of the other links you've been given.
Don't use free services! http://happy-vpn.com/blog/free-proxy-servers/ Pay for a VPN account if you really miss your TV shows.

Hi,
I've downloaded VLC player and britishtv.exe as stated elsewhere in this post and yes I can access BBC, ITV, SKY etc. (currently in Bolivia). I do have a problem tho, the programme will start to play for a few seconds then it starts buffering again and doesn't resume. I'm no genius with this sort of thing so if anyone has any (idiot proof!!) answers as to how I can make any adjustments to get it playing smoothly I would be greatful.
Thanks
Kev

Those however only tend to apply if one is in the UK and are not always free.
