Atheists: ive heard there is "evidence" there is no God. what is this evidence? where can i see it? how do you prove something _doesnt_ exist?

You cannot prove that something doesn't exist. Imagine the claim: There is a kangarou under your seat. Now try to disprove it. You may say 'I don't see it.' 'I don't feel it'. But then I answer: 'What if it's invisible?' 'What if you can't feel it because it's in a different dimension?' 'What if it's smaller than an atom?' There might be a way of disproving god by pointing out how illogical the whole concept is. For example, if god is omnipotent, can he make a stone that is heavier than he can carry? If he is omniscient and omnipotent, can he change his future mind? If god is so complex that he could create the whole universe, who created him? If the universe needs a big explanatin, god needs an even bigger one... But even then, someone might say 'Humans just can't understand god'. And then they rest their case.

Evidence is what your seeking huh? well lets flip this: what evidence do you have that what you believe in is true? you see your god hypothesis is just that, and will never be more than that, seeing as how impossible to test gods existence using the scientific theory. Heres some "evidence" for you 1)Either god created man, or he didnt. It cannot be both or something in between. Science says man evolved from apes, so there goes that. 2)Either god created life on earth or he did not. It cannot be both, it cannot be in between,. Science says he did not, life on earth originated by a process called "abiogenesis" 3)FREE WILL and FATE cannot simultaneously exist. Therefore, the definition of god, by christian definition, does not exist.

There is no evidence that God does not exist, simply because you cannot prove a negative. But there is an overwhelming amount of circumstantial evidence that God is very unlikely to exist. It is all around you, if you care to look.

Look up. You see God anywhere? People say that there's no way to prove something doesn't exist, but that argument doesn't apply so well to God. See, God loves us. God created Man and Earth and the Heavens and everything in between. God is big; not so much size-wise but God is omnipotent and omnipresent. I say, if God existed, wouldn't there be conclusive evidence that he did? If God existed, would he stand by and let science gain a bit of ground every day, let children starve and people burn and bombs drop? Does anyone see God? I know I'll probably be marked down more than I can spare for this, but if God exists he is being awfully quiet about it. It's not so much a matter of evidence he doesn't exist. It's an overwhelming lack of evidence to the contrary.

Do you need evidence to prove that your mother is your mother? Or that your father is yours? NO So why do u have to ask the question for God??????? There maybe evidence that he doesn't but there are also evidence of his existence...Open your heart and see for yourself..!

You have it backwards - most atheists take the complete absence of evidence in support of god to be convincing. It's up to theists, those claiming god does exist, to find evidence to support the notion.

no one knows anything..seriously people..you want to believe then go ahead..but there is no evidence against or for..and come on..yes earth came from something or somewhere but where right? we don't know..and thats how we should leave it..we just don't know, we weren't there and i doubt we will ever know the truth..

I am not a Atheist and I just wanted to say I can't prove to anybody that God exist but he will prove it one day and I hope everyone will be ready.

Do not confuse evidence with proof! Often an Atheist will arrive at the conclusion "There is no God" by assessing the evidence. You see there is no proof either way, but although there is no evidence to support the god theory, there is plenty of evidence to suggest this universe is godless. This does not make the decision 50/50, more 99.99% against a god.

Well, if you talk to christians and find out some accepted quality traits of their "loving" God, you will then find from reading the old testament on your own, that God is a murderer, he is a hypocrite and he encourages murder. He encourages his believers to take over villages, murder everyone except the virgins but take them for their own, and destroy the animals. He demanded the burning of healthy animals to make him forgive his people for their wrongs. He murdered many innocent children in the great flood. He is a horrible person and deserves no glory and no worship. He can easily be proven to be a hypocrite. I suggest if you really want to know, you should go find out what I mean on your own. It will make you stronger. He does not even exist.

There is no God, it is true. If there was a God, He would have a name and He/She would tell us his/her name. No one knows the name of God, therefore there is no God. Everyone just makes up a name for God. Allah is just another word for God. We know Jesus isnt God. Come on. His Father is God...except no one knows his name. for me Father just isnt enough. It is all we have, so that is what I use. BUT. it isnt his name. Anyway God is a generic word. It needs a specific word before the generic word to give it specificity. like delicious apple. or bartlett pear. or draft beer. or skippy peanut butter. you cant just say God and have it mean anyone or thing specific. Television is a GOD. People spend more time watching television than they do worshipping the creator. this site is a GOD. people spend more time on this site that being thankful for the many blessings we have. I dont believe in God. Its a sham. It insults my intelligence. I hate the word.
