Where do people get "foreclosure" listing for homes or other "bargain" deals? Usually it seems you have to pay for these lists? Are there any public sources of information for these house listings?

In my area, the real estate professionals are offering free lists in their desperation to sell some properties. Call some real estate offices and find out who is offering a free list. On the internet I have found nothing for free reguarding foreclosure, only services that require a fee to access their lists.
