  • Yes, in fact. Depending on how the seiling joists were layed down as the apartment was built, they should be either exactly in line with your wall studs or just to one side or the other. You can find them exactly by using a thin piece of piano wire, or a long finishing nail, in an unobtrusive location and poke through the drywall until you locate the ceiling joists. And afterwards the minor holes can easily be patched wit a dab of drywall mud (or even white tooth paste), smoothed over, and touchup painted. The holes will then be repaired and no longer visible.
