I tried to even out answers when it was obvious that everyone had a -3 from a single AB member who hit that question and everyone who answered it. I had lost points because of their pettiness and someone, bless their soul, gave me back a few. I never got what it had been before, but funny my TOP ANSWER had a -3 next to it the following morning, as did ALL of my other answers that day. I give positive points to questions & answers that are helpful,witty, correct and sometimes make me laugh. Sometimes, a single question may produce several wonderful answers that I'll upgrade the points, simply because they deserve it. We can't all have the same opinion about something, so when someone helps me see it in a different view, I appreciate that, and reward with my little 2 points.

I see nothing wrong with uprating people who've been DRd for no good reason.

Checking your stats I see you have 649 answers not rated at all and 18 of those are negative rated. Are you saying that those answer don't deserve even a single point. That is like saying 649 times you dug down and out of the goodness of your heart you gave to others your knowledge. From the way I see it 649 times you were ignored for your trouble and 18 of those times looked down upon for offering help. I know the points don't mean much but it is always a good thing to show someone you appreciate their time. On here points are what we have. They are the pat on that back that says hey thanks. Does this mean everyone should be at least a little thankful? yes it does. Does this mean they will be? no it doesn't but the good news is there are people on this site that does and since they can they do what they can to see that people get that pat on the back that so many do not want to bother with. There is nothing wrong with giving points as they will not pay your rent but they can give the receiver a little pat on the back that says hey nice job. The great thing is the points do not cost you a cent and you can give as much as you want providing you spread it around. Is it necessary? Yes I think that it is.
