I am not sure, that is a good question. I do not believe there is any limit at all to moderation. I know I get between 20 and 100 definite spam flags per week. I am guessing they just count as normal mod points, but, if I am wrong, I hope someone from the staff jumps in, and answers this.

I believe no. When I was still moderating heavily, I actively looked for spammers because they were a "points mine." Not only were they easy to spot, they were easy to flag as well. We can earn thousands and thousands of moderation points by flagging spammers.

When a spammers account is nuked, NO points are accumulated, even if the questions are flagged. I specifically asked this of Rich just a short time ago: "Rich, In our MY POINTS box-scores, I need to ask what the SUBS category is, and what the SUBS count is for moderation. (What does SUBS stand for? Shouldn't it be COUNT?) I believe it's the count of questions, answers, and comments. But for moderation, I'm not sure. Here's why: 08/19/2008 at 05:00AM - Moderation: 1780 8787 91% 08/19/2008 at 11:30PM - Moderation: 1803 9122 93% 08/20/2008 at 04:30AM - Moderation: 1893 9122 88% 08/20/2008 at 02:45PM - Moderation: 1893 9147 89% 08/21/2008 at 12:30PM - Moderation: 1848 9237 92% These are my last few readings for my moderation. I don't understand how my points for moderation can change without the subs changing, nor do I understand how my COUNT for moderation (if that's what it is) can go DOWN, unless 45 questions were disallowed. I've not received that many emails... Wait... Would that be 45 questions I'd flagged as spam, then the accounts got nuked? If that's the case, I guess we don't get points for flagging questions of nuked accounts, huh? (I flag them partially for the points, and partially so they can/will be set as spam if the account ISN'T nuked.) This would also explain why I've never seen the 450 points I expected for flagging 90 answers of a single spammer. Ok... If my last thought (the last paragraph) was correct, then there's no reason to flag spammers (only) questions/answers as such, since the account will be nuked and there will be no points... right? That would save some time... I honestly don't really care, but want to know how it works." His reply was: "Hi Bill, Yup, subs means submissions, and flag stats for nuked accounts don't count, to discourage people from creating nasty accounts just to get points. Hope this helps, Rich" There is no real limit, but if you flag questions as spam for an account that will be nuked, you will NOT get the points for it. Of course, if the spammer is only PBed, then, yes... You will get the points. This seems to be rare for those with a batch of obvious spam answers.

There is no points limit ever for flagging but unless they are approved before the account is closed you won't get the points. That's why it is best when you find a spammer to report it to the blog or a CL so the spammer will be stopped immediately.
