Are there any spider bites, or any other insect for that matter, that would look similar to a blister or burn?

Yes. I was bitten by a brown recluse spider. The wound was similiar to what you describe and it kept getting bigger. I was hospitalized for it. You should see a doctor immediately or go to the ER.

There are 3 non insect that will give you those. 1.Centipede as it bites will give you a real painful blister. 2.Millipede will give you a real acid burn when you step on it with the juice from its body touches your skin. 3.Ground scorpion when it stings is more painful than the centipede with similar blister mark. Some species are lethal. There are many insect species that will also give you those. 1.The ground hornets will give you tears and blister mark when it stings. 2.Forest bees equally the same. 3.Black wood ants equally the same. 4.Larva from several moth species will give you that burning sensation. 5.Furious Malarial mosquitoes will give you plenty of blisters if you happened to be in their territory. 6.Some Helopeltis species will give you nice fat blisters when bitten.
