i had someone cook me dinner one time and he didn't ask what i liked / didn't like before hand .. so he cooked salmon and i don't eat fish! not only did i look picky and ungrateful, but i ruined the romantic mood he had set because we had to deal with the drama of figuring out what he had at his place to give me. BUT, kinda was his fault because he never said "i'm thinking of cooking fish, is that ok?" so make sure u know what she likes / dislikes then .. don't be too elaborate or go way out of ur way .. the fact ur cooking dinner is enough!! do something u know she likes that's easy .. cook some pasta .. throw some hot sauce on it and grill a chicken breast .. put it all together and voila. if u want u can make a quick salad for starter .. lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, dressing, feta ... thats all really easy and really good. if u really want to do something different then why don't u ask what kind of meat she likes, type it into foodnetwork.com and there pops up a million recipes with ingredients, portions, serving size, time to prepare, time to cook, etc. it also rates them easy - expert so u can see if it's easy, go to the grocery store, grab what's on the list, and follow the instructions. she'd be so impressed that u went out of ur way to look up a recipe just for her, u followed all those directions and it ACTUALLY came out good.
