  • Yes. When i was in highschool i thought for sure that i would make it to the State Championships for track. I thought it would be easy. It wasnt. I ran poorly in both of my races and did not place in the top 6. In fact, I finished dead last. That ended my track career. I was so disappointed in myself and i spent over a year trying to figure out what went wrong. Now I know what happened. 1. I was always good at track but i never took it very seriously. sometimes i skipped practice and didnt care. 2. I was too egotistical. I thought i was going to easily qualify for states. I didnt realize how difficult it was. 3. I did not practice hard that week or the week before. 4. God needed to teach me a lesson in humility. Losing those races at the state qualifier meet taught me the importance of using the talent God has blessed you with. It taught me the importance of working hard to reach goals, and that if at first you don't succeed...to try again. Well right now i am trying again. I have thought about this so much and now as a sophomore in college, i have developed a new passion for track and field. Now i plan on running consistently and training hard until I make it to the Olympics. Currently I am training to make the team at my school. If possible i want to be the fastest 400m runner in the world someday. From now on, i will strive to be the best at everything that i have talent in. Especially track and field.
