The USA is a GREAT country, and have a WIDE pool of talent. What is more, we can offer citizenship to foreigners for their olympian history and/or aptitude, and we get better medal chances and they get a free ride in a 5 star country. Also, the coaches are amazing and some of those are foreigners too!

The US has many different races living in it, therefore we excell in a wide range of games and sports which requre certain adaptations. Jamaca, on the other hand, is not this way and only has adaptations that provide for fast running such as short-twitch muscle fibers.
-
Cause we effin rock!!
-
They have more people to pick from than most, and it seems to me (being a Brit recently moved to the US) that there are consciously sports and games for everybody, regardless of your overall build.
-
Face it, we is good : )
-
Maybe it is the fact the we are the world's third most populous country in the world. With that kind of diversity, how could we not excel?
-
'cause they chose the right people that could really give the extra mile, plus prepared them very well, mentally and phisically to win.

1) A fairly large and diverse population. More people means a greater chance for more exceptional athletes. . 2) More wealthy people, so if a 4-year-old shows gymnastic talent, her parents can afford to engage in the 12+ years of child abuse at gymnastics schools, competitions, etc. . http://www.salon.com/sports/olympics/feature/2008/08/13/fans/ 3) More sponsorship money. Getting your face on a Wheaties box is *far* more lucrative then endorsing Huawallama's Goat Steaks.

It's all muscles, no brain! We all know that!
-
Cause for all the tubby bastards, we've got the elite athletes to balance it out. Also with such wealth, we can afford to sponser/support amateur athletes, and athletic programs to train them. Also don't discount the 400+ years of forcefully stock piling physical specimens.

The USA has a population of 300,000,000 people and the resources to nerture and develop potential Olympians in a variety of sports. Unlike Cuba and Jamaica, for example, which have very talent atlets but don't have as many people nor they have the resources to develop and compete in as many sport discipline as the USA.
-
Athletes from other countries move here because they can get better training, and end up on Team USA.
-
Because some of our greatest heroes/heroines are in sports..because it is a way out of poverty for many..because if you're very good, you're set for life in terms of making big bucks. It is a healthy life (if you are a true athlete) and therefore something that parents can support. Of course China has more golds and that is significant, I think. But yep..the good old U.S. of A values its athletes, and adores them, encourages them and applauds them. Who wouldn't want some of that? :)
-
They trained and worked hard to be the best they could, and it payed off. WAY TO GO USA!!!!!!!
-
We aren't afraid to consume the resources we need to win. We have the economy and the freedom to bring foreign winners here.
-
There are only three metals at the Olympics, gold, silver and bronze. If you meant to say medals, then the answer is that we send a lot of very talented people to play for our side.
