  • That text is a hard way to determine someone's attitude. I just got a -3 for a joke question someone probably didn't realize it was a joke based on song lyrics. If you can't be there and talk to someone, it is hard to determine whether it's light hearted sarcasm or serious confrontation.
  • Nonsense prevails.
  • 1. Some people find it hard to move on 2. Some people don't learn their lessons 3. People are really diverse. Others will let an insult pass, while others will not stop until the insult has been removed from AB
  • There are certain people (tax protesters, global warming deniers, people who insist the King James Bible is the inerrant word of God, etc.) who will not budge one iota from their position no matter how much evidence you present that their views may be incomplete or flat-out wrong (e.g. Yes, there IS a law requiring that you pay income tax). . . .
  • Some people have never taken note of the expression "Self praise is no recommendation" People that have no right to judge others are the most judgemental of all. There are many kind and thoughtful people about where you would least expect. Hypocrisy is rife.
  • People really don't like negativity. Even though downrating doesn't take away points earned, and you can leave your ratings notification off, we talk about Downrating ALOT.
  • That people can go through the saddest, most heartbreaking experiences and not turn bitter and cynical. Instead, their capacity for love and compassion grows deeper. Sometimes AB seems all about pain - and then I realize, it's more about courage, as corny as that sounds.
  • That most of us crave the approval of others and use the DR key when we don't get it.
  • That there are a lot of kind compassionate people on here. A few wackos, but it takes all kinds.
  • While there are many that are just happy to be here, there are those who fake it just to get anal in debates!
  • That although we all think we're so very different, we're more alike than we care to realize.
  • That people always want to talk about god. People need more friends to figure out life, love, selfsteem, and what are the right things to do that's why we come here. and that we're all stuck on dilemmas like race, politics, discrimination, habits and how to treat people and how do we let people treat us.
  • There are a lot more people than I ever realized who are searching for answers, and not to dumb questions. When people are down, they will turn to the internet and talk to strangers to help buoy them up. When they are hurting, they are willing to take the advice of strangers, rather than do something stupid, in most cases. Then there are those who could care less about their fellow man, and nit-pick about EVERYTHING, from spelling, grammar, punctuation, questions asked, answers given, etc. There are also a LOT more people than I ever thought who cannot just let things slide. LITTLE THINGS seem to piss them off, and then they can't drop it. (See Vid #1 - NSFW but played on the radio.) That people are strange (See Vid #2)
  • That people are pretty much the same wherever I go, even here on Answerbag. Good people, bad people, nice people, grumpy people, smart people, not-so-smart people, and everything in between. And trolls. Let's not forget the trolls. I'm going to start a rumor here, but I believe trolls are actually people too.
  • Most people are good at heart, but we all have a button sommewhere that turns us into an A** hole. There are people who can't take a joke. Never argue religion. Apparently, I am the only person on the planet who has never found a pill just lying on the ground. Many people who think they are pregnant cannot spell pregnant.
  • that some people are just plain rude. I have found that Answerbag is a fun place to be even tho somepeople are just plain jack a$$es.
  • That people are not as ignorent and selfish as i thought. Big thanks to everyone that answered my questions and commented!
  • People aren't as hard to speak to as it seems. Yes, there is a computer screen in the way but I seem to connect with people better over the net than I do face-to-face.
  • Honestly, from answers to one of my questions, 9 out of ten people do not see anything wrong with kissing arse. I was surprised by that.
  • I learned that some people are determined to be judgmental assholes no matter what and that nothing will ever change that when people are really passionate about a cause or topic, they will stand their ground and when when someone tries to prove them wrong, they become more passionate (politics, child spanking, animal abuse, all those contraversial topics) Most importantly I learned that people from all over the globe can come together and encourage, share with and lift up those who are hurting, depressed and sad even though we have never met them or never will.
  • Some people can get very forgetful on AB by not leaving points when they answer or comment. Some people get a full of it attitude when they feel that they are smarter than everyone else. Some people overreact to their feelings of being treated unfairly and create a lot of unwelcome drama in here. On the plus side, most of the people who I encounter in here are straight shooters just like yourself, Zack.
  • That there are no changes - theres good and downright nasty ppl all over the place
  • That a sence of humour can be fatal.
  • Sterotypes are popular among lots of people. Some people believe their political views are the correct one and eveyone else should follow them. Some people forget others have a right of free speech. on a lighter note... There are lots of nice people in the world! :)
