  • Firstly, I find it odd that you directed this question towards christians and not of the other monotheisms -- it really shows that you know nothing about religeon. Secondly, why do you care? Have you ever heard of the expression, "live and let live"? And third, how the hell is a christian supposed to know the answer to that? Do you think christians have a personal God over their shoulder telling them the secrets of life? Instead of asking "why does he allow this to happen?" you should put into consideration that there is a possability of heaven--meaning this isn't it! What exatly does that mean?--it means were not living in bliss and bad things will happen, so just live a full life and stop bothering religeous types.
  • yeah... um... I'm atheist, but I think this is a bad question anyway.
  • The Catholics claim that 80,000 people visit the Vatican every year in hopes of recieving a blessing of a miracle for an ailment, or life threatening illness. The Catholics claim only an average of 16 persons of those 80,000 can be declared as recieving such a miracle, the rest suffer and die. How bout those odds? I deduce God, as you call it, is not as merciful as the church claims him to be. PS; I am not a Christian or an Atheist, let me just clarify that notion right now.
  • This is what I told my Grandma when she asked a similar question. In my opinion I see God as a parental figure. However just like parents on earth can't control everything their child does neither can God. Also as I have said before, sometimes something happens and it seems like it is a bad thing when it ends up giving us better things because of it. For instance I have had some very difficult experiences in my life. But I believe that I am a better person for having gone through those difficult times and learned from them.
  • Christians believe that because of the fall of mankind (in the Garden of Eden) that man has free will. As such, God does not control every single event. He is not to blame for the evil in the world as that comes from Satan, and from mankind's imperfect nature. He should be thanked for all the good in the world, though, as those things are gifts. It is interesting that many people only pray when tragedy has struck, or think of God and how to blame him when something terrible happens, whereas they may have ignored Him through all the good. That is probably just a part of human nature. I personally believe that the saying "everything happens for a reason" is false. I can't see a reason for these two incidents, I see them as random. I can't see a real reason why anyone is raped, murdered, molested, or any child dies from any cause. I do think that we each have a choice in how we deal with situations, though, although tragedies are hard to work through, we can either deal with them like John Walsh, for instance, or let them destroy us. I also think it is normal to want to blame someone, and God can be an easy target.
  • Only God can answer this question correctly. I believe there is a reason for everything. Just like with John Walsh-how many people has he saved by his show? If Adam had not been kidnapped and killed John probably would never had started the fight. Many criminals have been caught because of his TV show. It's a shame that he and his wife had to go through such a tragedy but the outcome was far greater. I know nothing of Sophie Delezio, but will pray for her. God Bless, <:))))<><
  • Well... there's this thing called free will. God does not impose His will on us, since that's just not what love does. So even if we're about to make a choice that's destructive to ourselves or others, God won't intervene, because He wants us to make our own choices.
  • God makes good things come out of bad things. if this happened, it happened for a reason and we shouldnt question why.
  • Why do people put the blame on God. what about the fact she survived , and that people around the country cared for her.
  • (Ecclesiastes 9:11) I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all. Why do rotten people become wealthy and good people suffer poverty? Why do rotten people live to a ripe old age and lovely young people die in accidents? Its all due to who is in control of the world right now... (Revelation 12:12) On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.” (1 John 5:19) We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one. (2 Timothy 3:1-5) But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. We are at this point in time...Now!
