There are a number of differences between the ways males and females process information - the field of brain study and research is still a relatively new field, and there are advances made all the time. Much of what people assume are differences between brain function in males and females seems to be based on observation of tasks, or on psychological testing, but once neuroscience is more advanced, we will have a clearer picture of the differences. At the moment, it is easy to say that - males have better spatial awareness, and females have a more developed use of language (although whether there is indeed a language centre has been the subject of much debate - see the Chomsky/Jackendoff arguments) Recently, I have been conducting research into modern foreign language learning aptitude amongst 11-13 year olds, focussing on the difference between the aptitude of males and females. From all the tests I have conducted so far, there appears to be little difference in aptitude between males and females in learning a second language in the secondary school environment. That is interesting, given that we tend to assume that girls learn languages better than boys. However, it must be said that these tests only involve aptitude for learning, not the actual processes of learning. All in all, it is a very confusing topic! Let me know if you get any answers which can be verified through a range of tests, and backed up with research .
