  • It wasn't just the E.T. game, but a number of game cartridges that Atari was disposing of in a landfill in New Mexico. The dumping is usually linked to the failure of the E.T. game.

  • Man I know nothing about this but I spent countless hours playing that Atari ET Game. I loved it. ET would fall down pits and levitate back up, or smell flowers to regenerate when he was wounded. The goal of the game was to build a phone from missing pieces so that you could eventually "phone home." I thought that game was so cool. But then again I thought most Atari games were neat, including Yars Revenge and Missile Command.
