When i was living in Southern California, the only place that I ever heard ski reports for in the area of LA was Big Bear (http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=Big+Bear,+CA). You can click on the provided links to see a map of the area and by clicking on the Satellite button on the upper right corner, you can see the aerial pictures of the area. From looking at these pictures I can see three distinct sets of ski slopes. I can't tell you have good they are as I have never been skiing anywhere. You can also use the map to determine how far from these resorts are from your specific part of LA.
