If there's an infection, then yes, but there must not be if you already have an appointment.

I suppose it's too late to save that wisdom tooth! For the record: I find the more you spend on toothpaste the less you spend on dentists. Brushing your teeth A.S.A.P. after eating anything can save unnecessary drilling. Some toothpaste can even help quiet down and repair an aching tooth.
