i know 5 kids all friends of family...all moms were on fertility drugs to get pg..very sad..two of the kids are twins and besides being autistic they have cerebral palsy.

At the risk of being DR'd here.... An actual accurate diagnosis for autism requires specialist examination, which many people do NOT get. This is NOT to say that everybody, or even most people, diagnosed with autism are not autistic. Merely that most people do NOT get the specialized medical examinations needed to properly diagnose autism. I've had a few people who have given their 'armchair diagnosis' of my son as autistic. They mistake being shy as a symptom of autism. Yes, I do know a couple children who have been diagnosed as autistic. They are pretty much like many other kids, just my have a few traits which are 'different'.

My 4 year old son is Autistic and has a great spirit might I add. He is a really awesome and interesting child to encounter. He is just too fun!

I have worked with several autistic children, who i have gotten to know and I really enjoyed working with them. They have away of brightening your heart!
